For the National Year of Reading this year, we are inviting you to use reading to Go All In on your hobbies and interests. In Birmingham, local schools and groups can submit reading recommendations based on their hobbies and interests. For example, if you're a big fan of football, you might have enjoyed The Breakfast Club Adventures by Marcus Rashford. Or if you're really into K-Pop, you might have liked Idol Gossip by Alexandra Leigh Young. Audiobooks, comics and magazines all count too!

Your recommendations will be published anonymously in an online list so that future readers can find books about their hobbies and interests, recommended by local people.

If you're not sure where to go to find a book about your hobby, you could try your local library, have a look at the mobile library timetable or visit your school library. Don't be afraid to ask a librarian for help.

Recommendations can be submitted by anyone aged 8 or above, including adults. The deadline to read and recommend your book is October 1st 2026.

The group or school which submits the most reviews proportional to the size of that group, will receive a prize.
